2018 Volcano Update:
We are still operating our Volcano Adventure tour!
**Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is set to reopen by September 22, 2018!!!**
Due to the recent volcanic activity Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is currently closed. Our Volcano Adventure tour is operating with an alternate itinerary where you are able to safely experience the volcanic landscape of the island.
Our alternate Volcano Adventure itinerary includes a trip up the Saddle Mountain road with views of two of our largest volcanoes, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Learn about the different types of lava flows that make up the volcanic landscape of our island and explore an ancient lava tube. Experience Hawaii’s native rainforest with optional hiking trails and bird watching. Wind your way along the Wailuku River with stops at Pe’epe’e Falls and Rainbow Falls. Enjoy the beauty of the lush river beds and learn the history and Hawaiian legends of the area. Take a break at the Big Island Candies chocolate factory for chocolate tasting and coffee sampling. Conclude your day with a trip down the Keaukaha coastline to visit Hilo’s black sand beach and scout for Hawaiian green sea turtles.
Please be assured that we only operate in areas deemed safe by the national park and local county government. The volcanic eruption activity is currently in an isolated area of the Puna district. This tour does not go to that area and will not be affected.
If the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park re-opens prior to your tour date, we will resume the original Volcano Adventure itinerary. The national park has set a tentative date for reopening by September 22, 2018. The proposed tour itinerary is subject to change as public access is allowed.
